The Community Placement Network is about expanding flexible and appropriate options for people who’ve been assessed and are ready to live in the Australian community. These are asylum seekers on bridging visas who don’t have community links and therefore need support during the first 6 weeks of their bridging visa.
The CPN is run by our friends at the Australian Homestay Network, who are closely working with the Australian Red Cross on this. Register your interest to host an asylum seeker for a six week period using the form on the right. During the 6 weeks you’ll be given training, a weekly stipend to help with the cost, and access to a 24 hour support hotline. Asylum seekers will have dedicated experts to help with the practicalities of finding a job, a place of their own and getting a translator, if needed, for important things like medical appointments.
