Billy Bragg Australian Tour 2014 Announced, Courtney Barnett Supports

The Billy Bragg Australian Tour 2014 has been announced and with the UK singer-songwriter just about to open proceedings on this year’s BIGSOUND music industry conference, the British ‘Bard of Barking’ has revealed dates for a return next year.

Returning to Australia in 2014 for his first full band tour in five years, the English folk rock icon is returning in support of his latest studio album, Tooth & Nail, and is bringing one of Australia’s most talented emerging artists along for the ride, with the Breakthrough Indie Artist-nominated Courtney Barnett joining Billy Bragg as national support.

The Billy Bragg Australian Tour 2014 will also include Bragg’s first ever show at the Sydney Opera House, and will see the Bard and his band showcase Tooth & Nail as well songs pulled from his war-chest of classics (a chest overflowing with the likes of A New England, There is Power in a Union, Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key, Take Down the Union Jack and You Woke Up My Neighbourhood).
