Letter being given to residents under fire threat tonight

Dear resident,

The NSW liberal government has been shutting down the only permanent fire station in your area over the last few days, Dapto Fire Station.

After a disagreement with our employer, firefighers initiated internal industrial action that had no impact on the community.

In a spiteful response to our requests, the NSW Fire Commissioner started shutting stations to save money, by not calling in off duty firefighters to keep your station open.

Local fire crews are handing out letters to the community to explain that the fire brigade management has been taking your fire station offline. At times we have had firefighters at the station that cannot respond, because fire brigade management won't recall one off-duty firefighter for the shift.

Please contact your local MP and let them know you are disgusted in the actions of the fire brigade management, and disgusted in the actions of the NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell for publicly supporting this action, which endangers our firefighters, and endangers the community.

Thankyou for any help you can provide Dapto firefighters.

Regards,

Dapto Firefighters
