Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men’s health.
At the start of Movember guys register with a clean shaven face. The Movember participants, known as Mo Bros, have the remainder of the month to grow and groom their Mo, raising money along the way to benefit men’s health – specifically prostate cancer and depression in men.
Funds are committed to our men’s health partners – the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, beyondblue: the national depression initiative and the Movember Foundation. Together, the three channels work to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world class programs in the fields of research, education, support, and awareness.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
Funds raised through the Movember Australian campaign go to The Movember Foundation (ABN 48 894 537 905) which is a national, not for profit, charitable organisation.
The net funds are committed to programs supporting prostate cancer and male depression initiatives run by Movember and through our men’s health partners beyondblue: the national depression initiative and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

2013 – NSW Firefighters / Fire Brigade Employees’ Union Movember Team
win 2013 Australian Triple Zero Challenge !
We did it ! Together we raised over $25,000 towards men’s health, and won the emergency services 000 challenge.

Congratulations Darin and the team at NSW Firefighters and Fbeu on taking out the Highest Fundraising Team Award for the 2013 Movember Triple Zero Challenge!
What a huge achievement to receive this award, in what has been the Triple Zero Challenge’s most successful year to date. Your commitment to Movember and getting the conversation started on men’s health is greatly appreciated. It seems you have taken every opportunity to raise both awareness and funds throughout the hairy season and we’ve really enjoyed being updated along the way.
Your engagement with the campaign makes our job here at Movember extremely rewarding because we get to see our hard work pay off, by empowering Mo Bros and Sistas to get out there and start changing the face of men’s health.
To thank you for your hard work over this Movember we have the Highest Fundraising Team trophy (see attached) we would love to present to you. We would love to do this in the flesh, so if you have time over the coming weeks our Mo Bro on the ground in NSW, Mili, can drop by and officially present you with the trophy and grab a coffee to chat about your Movember journey.
