Personal blog – What do Australians want? #Auspol

Media_httpimagessmhco_jxqxr

My wife and I are both lucky enough to work, so we get by – but it’s hard juggling family life, and my missus would love to be able to just stay at home look after the kids.

But what do Australians want? Money it seems. If we can all afford two cars, a nice big house, 4 computers, ipods, big screen TV’s, a couple of holiday’s every year.

And when we can’t afford that, on one wage preferably, it’s the Govt’s fault. Tax us and we’re all cranky. Sure, we prob argue that the taxes can be better spent, and that may be right, but we even swallow the Liberal + hate media lies, and defend big business now.

We are hostage to the right of politics and hate media…. can you believe this is the vibe from everyday Australians now:

– Tax companies to improve our responsibility on the environment = bad.
– Tax companies to help problem gamblers = bad.
– Tax companies to return money to the people from the mining boom = bad.

I think we need to look at what makes us a wealthy nation. While ever we have our cars, TV’s and PC’s, while homeless men sleep in doorways in the CBD, aboriginal communities across Australia live in abject poverty, and our biggest fear is keeping out scared refugees from entering our shores, I think we are a poor nation. I’m as guilty on most of this as anyone.

Yep, the ‘evil’ greens are coming to get us, with crazy ideas of looking after vulnerable, treating humans with dignity, and caring for the environment over big business. Evil, moronic stuff indeed.

So the Carbon Tax is all but in, and if you believe the doomsdayers, the economy will crash. Families will be hard hit, and confidence in the economy will be hard hit.

Or

And by the way, there is NO carbon tax on people, only tax cuts.
