#FRNSW fire stations to be shut again | #FBEU warns danger

NSW fire stations to be shut again – Yahoo!7 News.

NSW fire stations will be routinely closed again after a recommendation by the Industrial Relations Commission to re-instate the practice.

A number of full time stations have been taken offline in temporary arrangements since Monday by the Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW).

The closures affect only those stations that are unstaffed on any given day.

They have come into effect following the IRC’s decision on November 16 to lift a previous recommendation preventing the station closures.

The lift reinstates the FRNSW’s original plan made in early November to save money in overtime as part of a government plan to reduce costs by 1.2 per cent per annum over the next four years.
