FBEU: Brewarrina fire station upgrade ‘shonky’

The Fire Brigade Employees Union says it is concerned corners have been cut in renovations to a fire station at Brewarrina, putting officers’ safety at risk.

The Brewarrina Shire Council recently reported extensions carried out at the station do not meet state standards.

The union’s state president Darrin Sullivan says it was not given right of inspection as it should have been, and the defects ‘wreak of shonkiness’.
