• A total of 78 per cent of firefighters back walk-outs

• They claim changes to pensions are unfair to staff and dangerous to public

• But Government claims pension structure is ‘generous’

Firefighters could strike over chages to their pensions, which they claim are unfair to them and will put the public in danger

‘None of us want a strike, but we cannot compromise on public and firefighter safety. We hope common sense prevails, and the Government returns to the negotiating table.’
